Hi thee
I've been looking for a way to backup few machines on my remote sites.
On those remote sites ESXi Hypervisor (free version) is installed and has 4 windows server. Versions of ESXi are different, but mostly 4.x.
I hoped I can use free version of Unitrend backup software, but on my testing ground I got ESXi hypervisor 4.1 (260247) installed on some old Proliant server. Backup device is NFS share.
I have set everything up (correct, I hope), and I see virtual machines and NFS repository, but when I try to create schedule backup, I get [System] file-level backups not supported in Free Edition License.
I can request NFR licence, but I have 6 or more sites and that will not be fair, but on the other hand, I am looking for free backup solution (if available).
I believe I did succeed in creating some schedule, but I do not know how, but now when I try again, I fail. I see one file with 0000000000 name and size is around 33GB (it was 6GB when first time I succeeded, if I am not mistaking).
So question is, can I backup VM's on this ESXi Hypervisor, or not, and what am I doing wrong.
