We have a number of clients that are looking to backup to our facility. We have Backup Exec 2012 and will be adding the Dedup license.
What i'm looking for is a NAS storage device that has high scalability. Meaning I can had an expansion chassis with more drives as need be.
What i'm currently looking at is a Synology RS10613xs+. It will hold 10 4TB drives. Additionally we could add up to 8 expansion modules (RX1213sas), 12 drives each.
This looks really good, and will fit nicely, the problem is, i've never used Synology before, and I don't know anything about them. And second, they don't have a tech support number. It's all email based.
This does not have to be high speed storage. I don't think i need an EMC, NetApp, Equalogic or any other type SANS.
Is this a good solutions or is there a better one for my purposes? Thanks.
