UEB hyper-v setup -> can someone confirm configuration in correct

Hey guys i've been setting up a UEB free edition for testing purposes. i was wondering if someone could verify my configuration/setup.

Im currently running Hyper-V server with 2 vm's (AD & SQL) and now the unitrends VM as well.

my backup HDD is a WD usb drive attached, with a Dynamic VHD saved to it.

I setup the UEB basic network setting and logged into the UI via the IP addy. I was unable to use the push agent install to connect my VM's to the client list. I logged into the virtual servers and ran the agent installer (\\consoleip\windows_agent\) and was able to add my VM's to the client list. I've since schedule backup tasks. I have a couple concerns though.

1) My usb backup HDD - since the unitrends is using a storage pool (the remander of the unitrends VHD and the USB VHD) it seems to me that if i lose the disk that holds the unitrends VHD, would i also lose that portion of the backup storage pool. would that render all my backups useless? Is there a way to configure the back up storage to only use my usb HDD?

2) Since im backing up the VM's and not the hyper-v host, i assume the backups just contain the filesystem of the virtual server and not the VHD or machine config. is this correct? during a recovery would i need to recreate the vm machine and then restore the backup or does the recovery process recreate the VM's automatically?

3) because im using the free edition am i not able to add the hyper-v host to the client list?

thank you for your time guys!

Roy
