So, I have been toying around with the free edition of Veeam and I have a few questions about it. We are looking at putting a new backup solution in place, and I am loving the backup capabilities of Veeam so far. I have been moving my company into a highly virtualized environment with 2012r2.
My question is how to use the data deduplication features of Veeam? From how I understand it, I need a 2012r2 install with data deduplication installed in the Windows features, then set it up on the storage array that I will be using to push the backups to, (planning on getting another QNAP NAS and connecting it via iSCSI to the VM Veeam is running on). From there, the details get a little fuzzy on how to set up Veeam to dedupe data before pushing it over the network to the NAS storage box.
