We are looking for a new cloud backup solution. We are an IT-company that primarily works with Amazon cloud solutions and mostly EC2.
We have used Zmanda for the last few years but are looking for alternatives. They are forcing all their customers over to Carbonite by December and we thought it might be a good time if we are making changes to our backup system anyway to see what alternatives there are today.
Zmanda has for the most part worked ok but there are a few issues we aren’t happy with:
• The backups frequently fail without us having changed anything and the reasons for failure are often not stated other than like “internal error” etc. When it happens I don’t have time to spend hours on Google and Zmanda support pages to try and figure out what went wrong.
