We purchased BE2014 with the SQL agent to backup a new SQL2014 server that is running on Windows server 2012. The database we backed up is 465GB and took 5hrs to backup on the BE2014 server. We have the same database in production on a SQL2005 server running on Windows 2003 that is backed up with BE2010R3 and only takes 1.5 hrs. Both backup servers backup to a LTO-3 drive.
Does anyone know why the new 2014 would be so slow? I would expect it to be faster because right now nothing else is running on the new server. And being on SQL2014 I would expect it to have better performance than SQL2005.
