What dedupe ratios are people seeing with their VEEAM backup jobs on a daily basis?
An active full VEEAM backup job of mine is about 1.2 TB of data, that deduplicates down to 201.52 GB. Dailies dedupe down to anywhere from 90-115GB. So my fulls are about 5.5:1 and dailies are around 2.5 to 2.7:1.
This concerns me mostly due to the need to replicate my backups to the cloud on an nightly basis and bandwidth vs these file sizes will be an issue.
We use "dedupe friendly" for the compression level, as we write our backups to an Exagrid appliance, and Incremental backup mode. Active fulls on Friday, with backups running M-F. We're basically using all the best practice settings that VEEAM defines for using with an Exagrid appliance.
The Exagrid takes all of my other backup exec data and kills it with some pretty ridiculous dedupe ratios...
