I had a very small change window while migrating a Windows 2008 R2 server from Xenserver to Hyper-V. To save time I created 2 new data volumes as vhdx files on a different Hyper-V VM, and pre-copied the data from the Xen-hosted server. I detached the 2 vhdx files from that VM.
During the change window I did a final snapshot of the old server, and shut it down.
Then I created the new server on Hyper-V, restored the system volume using the AppAssure "bare metal" restore. I installed Integration services and attached the 2 vhdx files to the server. All worked quite well, data is fine, permissions, ownership all fine, but AppAssure now shows one of the 2 volumes as "missing" and shows a new version of that volume as "unprotected"
It's odd that one volume F: is fine, while G: is "missing"
I could just add the new one, but I'd like to keep...
