We have been using Commvault as our main back up suite for all physical and virtual servers, with the majority of the licensed features. While Commvault certainly has provided us with some level of protection, there was too many pain points which posed too great a risk to our company. We have trialled Appasure, BackupExec and Unitrends and analysed each against our current backup suite, Commvault. Main pain points of existing system:
1) Verifying backups (Arguably a pointless exercise). Too many backups with corrupt data and time consuming to keep checking and re-running. Did not occur with Appasure nor Unitrends. although Appasure was extremely slow!
