Trying to get a gauge on how long it takes everyone to back up their data using the Unitrends Enterprise Backup.
Our hyper-v host sever that is running the UEB appliance is a quad core xeon E5-2407 (4 cores at 2.2ghz), 48GB ram, and 24x 4TB 7200RPM SAS drives in one big raid 10. (44TB raw). Network is Intel X540 10gbit to Cisco 4509. Other servers being backed up are either directly connected to the the 10gbit blade on the cisco or to a 1gbit port somewhere on the same switch.
Right now, any client we back up, even those on 10gig, are maxing out at around 25MB/s (with averages over the backup closer to 17-18), which just seems so...slow. We were (and still are in most cases until we can speed this up) using Microsoft DPM which just rips data off with no issue, in some cases capping out the 10gbit network. DPM server is about two years...
