Recommendations for a Home office backups?

I currently run a Windows 2012 R2 box that serves the following purposes:

  • Hyper-V host for VMs
  • Media Storage for home entertainment
  • SVN repositories for code and other projects
  • Backup server for 2 desktops and a laptop, using acronis true image

The VMs sit on a 4 Disk RAID-10 array, the Media and SVN repos sit on a 5 Disk RAID 5 array, and the backups sit on a 2 disk RAID 1 array, along with 3 global hot-spares, all running off a LSI 9260-8i controller, with an Intel SAS expander.

Obviously it's bad to have all your eggs in one basket, and the entire box is one point of failure (plus the one raid controller), so I'm looking at separating these functions out to separate servers, namely backups +svn, Media, and VM's. I recently purchased a Dell R410, that I plan on putting 4x 4TB WD red drives in (RAID-10), and using that for backups, but I...
