I keep having an issue using Veeam to backup our VHD's. I can't figure out if its the way Veeam is doing something or a bug in Hyper-V. I never saw this issue prior to using Veeam. It seems like about once a month one of our VM's not usually the same one, will get hung in a "Backing up" state. It can't be shutdown or modified. The only fix I've found is rebooting the host and sometimes its not graceful due to the hung state.
Searching around hasn't really given me much insight into what is actually happening or how to fix it. Has anyone experienced this or know what might be done to correct it without rebooting?
Veeam support suggested migrating it but I don't have anywhere to send it at this time.
