One fine morning I came in to work to find our UPS whining about no batteries. We had a good run, but this signaled it was time for a new one. (That, and knowing it may have reached its usable life after being in service for about 8 years.)
We reached out to vendors and manufacturers, did some legwork and decided on a nifty new device that provided scalability, was all the rage among the IT crowd and came as a nicely racked “drop-in” form factor.
