I am running Microsoft Exchange 2010 that is installed on Windows 2008R2. I am using Windows Backup to do a full backup of the server every night to removable media. I would like to test the disaster recovery restore process but I don't have a like server (or any server at all) to do so. Is it possible to restore it to a PC for test purposes? I assume the machine will BSOD as soon as I try to boot it. I asked the powers that be for a test server but funding was denied. I am comfortable with file level restore (I test these weekly). any advice would be appreciated.
