Veeam Backup Redo

I migrated about 200GB from one file server to a new one. The source server was backed by Veeam. It runs Reverse Incremental and I keep 30 days on a NAS. Since the migration, my offsite backup method (BE 2010 to LTO5) has been spanning tapes. After investigation, I found that the Reverse Incremental file (.vbk) is still at the same size even though the server is now smaller.

I'd like to keep the past 30 days  on the NAS, but need to backup going forward to reflect the smaller size of the source server. So my question: Can I rename the backup folder on my NAS (to keep for historical purposes for a month or so since I've got space), delete the existing backup job, and start over?

I think I can, but was curious about if I need to do a restore with one of the backups in the renamed backup folder, will it be difficult.
