Hi, Guys
I've been tasked with coming up with a backup solution for our network, which is really quite complicated. We should, in theory, be backing up 100 laptops, for quick recovery in a disaster, three Hyper-V servers (about 30 VMs running on these), two Citrix XenServer hosts (with about 40 VM's on them), one VMWare VSphere server (about 6 VM's on that).
I was thinking it may be an idea to get a PBBA (maybe even a WD Arkeia?) and perform all of the backups I need to do on that, then invest in a cloud storage/recovery system for the DR part of the task.
I did consider VEEAM, which really appeals to me for several reasons, but it will not handle the Citrix VM's. Of course, it also won't handle the physical laptops.
I also considered Acronis, and am trying to reach out to their UK team to price this up.
However, I'm interested to know if anyone in the world of SpiceHeads has a similar setup and any suggestions I may have missed?
Am I best choosing several 'best of class' solutions, and finding a way to make them all play nicely? Or should I find one single solution, to make the administration easier?
