Prerequisites
- Backup Exec 2012 revision 1798 Service Pack 2 (SP2) (TECH201596) is required before installing this update
- Administrative privileges are required to install this hotfix.
Post requisites
- A full backup is recommended after installing this hotfix.
- Remote Agent for Windows Servers will need to be updated after installing this hotfix
- Remote Agent for Linux/Unix/Macintosh Servers (RALUS/RAMS) will need to be updated after installing this hotfix.
Issue(s) resolved
- Only partial restore selections are present after Backing up a Dell Equalogic NDMP filer running Dell's FluidFS file system (TECH210492)
- Security log fills with entries in relation to Backup Exec Server Service and causes event log to fill beyond system capability. (TECH203530)
- Backup Exec Job Engine service randomly terminates in MSVCR100.dll. (TECH204047)
- E0008213 received in adamm.log while backup/opt-dupe jobs to deduplication stay in a queued state. (TECH204116)
- After canceling an active job that contains duplicated data from optimized deduplication job the data may not be restorable. (TECH210499)
- Large duplicate jobs from a MMS server dedupe folder to a CASO server dedupe folder fails with An error occurred while retrieving catalog information. (TECH209521)
- Expired backup sets are deleted by DLM (Data Lifecycle Management) even if duplicate jobs fail. (TECH208605)
- Installing Hotfix patch on a system that was installed using Backup Exec 2012 slipstream media fails with the message that Backup Exec 2012 SP2 needs to be installed even though it is already installed.
