We're currently in the process of trailling some cloud backup, based on the Attix5 system.
As part of this, I'm trying to backup a physical system, then restore to our Hyper-V server. The backup works ok, I then install a vanilla version of the same OS onto my Hyper-V server, install the backup client, download the system state image, reboot into AD restore mode, and restore the image data.
When the VM reboots, I get some BSOD's - first (0x0000007b) was due to physical system having SCSI drives, and Hyper-V only supporting IDE booting. I attached the VHD and re-enabled intelide service - It now gets a little further, and I'm a little stuck!!
I'm now getting the green windows loading bar for a bit, then 0x0000006B PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED BSOD - Which I still believe is disk related.
I read a MS KB article about removing the bootcat.cache file, which I've tried but didn't help.
Has anyone any ideas how we can resolve this to get the VM to boot? I'd hoped there would be answers from people having this issue after a P2V conversion, but no such luck :|
