I have two old G4 Slot load XSevers running XSever 10.4.11. Trying to backup all the drives to a NetgearNas1500 using Carbon Copy Cloner works fine on one with just two drives but the one that has 4 drives hangs up sometime in the process looks like the files are cloned but server hangs and services stop. These are both just running AFP and Windows file services. My question is would a disk image of each of the drives daily be better than the incremental file backup? Or is there a better way to schedule the backups and do users need to be logged off. I have a very small window of time that no one is on this server and it is always mounted on at least one computer that handles our transporter.
