We have an HP MSA2040 iSCSI SAN Storage with 4 hosts/servers connected to it - 2 are on Red Hat Linux & 2 are on Windows Server 2012. Currently running without any backup solution in place. The LAN and iSCSI SAN are on different networks/switches.
We need to power down and restart the MSA2040 due to an issue with one of the controllers but want to first take a complete backup of the data on the MSA2040, just in case we lose data and need a restore. This is a one time operation and we are considering a longer term data backup and recovery strategy/solution.
We have a QNAP NAS that we can possibly use.
What would the most appropriate short term/immediate solution be to backup the MSA2040 without requiring purchase of additional HW or SW?
Appreciate any helpful suggestions.
