We have a file server on our network that we use as a central backup target for all servers running Windows Server Backup. Every night all of our servers run a scheduled full backup including system state and bare metal recovery over the network to a share on the central file server. Then during the day, the backup images are saved to tape using BackupExec2012 before they get overwritten during the following nights backups.
The issue I'm having is that recently these windows server backups are taking a lot longer to complete than they used to. Servers that would backup in 30minutes are now taking hours and servers that took several hours are now taking half a day.
I can confirm that the problem is specific to this one file server. If I change the backup target to a different server then the backup job runs at the appropriate speed. The...
