I am going to be setting up a Dell server as a backup storage location for Altaro and StorageCraft and maybe others. I am using a Dell T410 with 4TB drives in Raid.
I am having a hard time on figuring out how I want to set this up.
I do want to use this server for some smaller VMs.
So in my head I coukd do the following:
- create a vm and a huge vm disk for the altaro and storagecraft side. Negative of this is restoring of the backup vm will be difficult since it is inside a vm
- create a small vm for the software but share out storage on the host and save the backup files to that
Any other suggestions?
