Windows Server 2012 r2 backup is failing to an NAS. The backup is scheduled to backup: Bare metal recovery, System state, System reserved, and Local disc (C:). The advanced option is VSS Full Backup. The destination is the NAS which is a Remote shared folder. There are a few messages the system gives when backup is attempted:
- There was a failure in preparing the backup image of one of the volumes in the backup set.
- Detailed error: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.
I tried doing a backup to a local disc on an actual workstation on the network, and it was able to do a full backup of the server to a folder on that workstation, so I have narrowed it down to the NAS.
