We are SMB, 50 users.
ESXi 5.5 VMware_host_1 ( 7 vms) - storage is local disks RAID 10
ESXi 5.5 VMware_host_2 ( 4 vms) - storage is local disks RAID 10
We are planning to use Veeam as our backup solution.
Currently while evaluating Veeam we are using external portable USB drive (1 TB) for testing.
Veeam is installed on a physical machine and the external USB 1TB is connected to this same physical machine.
Planning to buy some backup storage devices where we can store our backup files.
Here is our goal w.r.t. backups/DR:
Backup all the VMs using Veeam and store the backups in local LAN connected ( NAS,SAN whatever you guys recommend). And have a second similar device at offsite location (home). Both the backup devices should be able to sync(one-way).
In case of a disaster. All I would do is go home and bring the spare server(esxi) +backupdevice...
