I'm trying to find and restore a file that I believe is in one of my backups. I will assume that all backups inherit the permissions on the network folders, and what problem i'm having is that one of my backup servers is in its own workgroup, assigned a static IP in my server VLAN and it takes hourly snapshots of our physical servers (and a couple VM's). I have 2 local accounts on this workgroup server (Running Windows Server 2008 R2) (Replay Admin Console). I mounted the drive backup to explore the file i'm looking for, but the folder I need to access, I get permission denied (accounting folder) and cannot get in! To me, it is authenticating as the local user, and with the domain permissions set, It will deny me every time! I've heard of pass-through authentication, but not familiar enough to work around this issue i'm having....
