Hey guys, I just want to get some feedback on the backup strategy that I have recently been using for clients. I work in the SMB market (15-30 users generally).
I have two types of clients. Those with Windows Servers and those with NAS units
Client A: For clients running off of NAS, I set them up with a Synology NAS (unit #1) units that centrally store about 400GB (which is primarily the only data they are concerned with). I make it a best practice not to store data on individual machines unless it just so happens to be syncing with the server (via CloudStation).
I then have a second Synology NAS (unit #2) unit running as a backup (not syncing, but using the Synology built-in backup software). Unfortunately, beyond receiving email alerts on failures, I have no real way to track the ongoing status of this in a cost effective manor.
