Home NAS and backup

At the moment I have 4 different drives at home - 2 network connected drives each with a USB drive on them. I use them for backups and for holding music, movies and pictures that I can stream over the network to my television.

I'm tired of having so many drives laying around so I want to consolidate them all into one nice NAS. I've got about 6TB total storage at the moment but really only need 3-4.

I have a few questions - would I be better of with a 2 bay NAS running raid 1 or should I spend the money and go with a 4 bay NAS and run raid 5, 6 or 10? We're just talking about a home NAS and all the important stuff is backed up to the internet (photos and financial info).

It would be really nice to have some sort of auto-backup for the stuff we put on the internet. The other thing I need is some sort of included backup software and cloud...
