By now, many of you may have heard that Symantec has announced that they will be discontinuing their Backup Exec 3600 appliance in 2015. You may have also heard that Unitrends is offering existing Backup Exec 3600users trade-ins. We think that customers who've purchase a purpose built backup appliance (PBBA) before have got the right idea, and we don't want to see Symantec customers who made the right choice to upgrade to PBBAs have to go back to buying, integrating, monitoring, and managing separate server hardware, storage, networking, operating system, anti-virus, backup, retention, archiving, and other software.
