Dell AppAssure vs Symantec Backup Exec 2014

Okay, so I know this stuff gets asked a lot and I've read a lot of the stuff on here, as well as anything I could find elsewhere. Haven't really found quite enough for me to be 100% sure yet.

We currentlyuse Symantec Backup Exec 2010 at our headquarters. Its been fine, I'm not a Symantec fan but I don't have an issue with 2010 Backup Exec. I've been using backup exec since Veritas so I'm so used to all the quirks and things that it takes very little extra maintenance.

I skipped upgraded to 2012 because 2010 was working and I've learned you don't "fix" things that aren't broken, especially with backups. However, now we have virtualized some servers here on VMware, and I cant buy add in licenses anymore for 2010 to support the VMs.
