I'm in the process of evaluating the Unitrend 813 to replace my Backup Exec 3600 r2 Appliance.
From my reading it would appear that Unitrend is forcing you to do replications as the offsite strategies. as i already have Tapes & tape infrastructure in place...
is it possible to implement a typical Grandfather, Father, Son strategy with Archiving to tape?
imagine a perfect month (4 even weeks) with a new master created every weekend
the idea being that unless specified,
The Grandfather (first master of the month) retention of 1 year
The Father ( the other 3 weekend masters) retention of 1 month
The Child (incremental or differential) will be on a 2 week retention.
Tapes would be taken off site 5 days a week Monday-Friday
