Why do hosting/"cloud" providers continue to not listen to my requirements for our DR needs.
I provide the same PDF document to all parties stating a RTO of 24hrs and most come back with RTO's of 2hrs.
When I say I only need 24hrs RTO, the people on the other side of the table have this surprise or even better shocked look on their faces and try to let me know why we need 2hrs RTO.
We are a Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5pm office. The systems/work we do are not that critical that we need to be up and running in less than 2hrs. Our phone lines are more critical at times.
I have no issues if someone was to suggest a 2-4hr RTO but don't tell me we need it! Maybe ask us why only 24hrs and try to understand our business needs first. Just a little pet peeve I have right now.
