I just assembled a FreeNAS server from an old OptiPlex 755, 2x750gb hdd's and 4 gb RAM. All seems to be well, except that I have one W2K3 server that complains that " the backup file name could not be used \\Freenas\drive\filename.bkf Please ensure it is a valid path and that you have sufficient access" (this is using ntbackup)
Now, this same server will backup just fine to an external hard drive, and I have two more servers one is Server W2K, the other is another Server W2K3 and my Win7 office machine that al three will backup just fine to the Freenas server.
It seems like a network permissions thing on the W2K3 server, but I just can't seem to pinpoint it.
Any Ideas?
