So I've taken on some clients that have existing servers running critical roles of varying types, SQL, DC, Exchange, Etc. and it seems like they are all running Symantex backup exec. Generally when I start to look into the backups that they thought were working, stuff is always broken on some level. And the program is so amazingly, frustratingly, needlessly over complicated that I want to punch myself in the face. Their support is generally just OK at best and slow to respond.... Ok, deep breath.
I am super happy with Altaro for my Hyper-V stuff, but what would you guys recommend for non-virtualized environments.
Ideally easy to use, does on-site backup and offsite drive or cartridge rotation.
