Earlier this year I became the IT support for a local rainbow company, very small setup. They had stored everything on an external drive ONLY. I advised them this was not enough, if the drive failed...you get my drift.
I set them up with Crashplan around Feb, the unlimited plan for $9 a month. The owner fussed and gripped a little, as he didn't see why he needed it but went ahead anyway.
Forward to yesterday, he called me frantically and said he couldn't access his drive. I came over as quickly as I could and could hear the 'tick, tick, tick'. I explained what happened, and he turned a ghostly white listening to these details.
I then informed him that everything that was on this drive was backed up to crashplan. So we went out, bought a new external drive, restored everything down to it, and he was back up and running within 12 hours....
