I really need to share my experience with the two Unitrends 813 appliances I have had now for about 4 months.
I've had high hopes for these appliances and I still expect them to eventually be as reliable as promised. For the amount of money paid, they damn well better be.
Unfortunately, to this point, my experience has not been great. Four months in and I have been on the phone with tech support far too often. I will say that for the most part, tech support has been fantastic. They have been responsive and willing to take all of the time needed to work on my issues.
That said. It has been a struggle since day two. I say day two, because the initial setup of the devices was pretty easy. On day two, I began the process of seeding for cross replication. First off, the seeding process is not in the GUI. It must be done in an SSH command line...
