Good morning. I know that variants of this question have been asked a million times, but here we go again. I would like to find a single backup software solution to use for my entire enterprise. I currently am using Veeam for my virtual servers, ShadowProtect for my physical Windows servers, and Retrospect for my non-Windows SAN devices with CIFS shares.
Veeam is flawless - set it and forget it. ShadowProtect has an unstable console UI, and I periodically have to create new backup set strings, which chews up a lot of disk space to maintain my retention periods. Retrospect is ... Retrospect ..., and also has to have new backups sets created periodically. Retrospect is also slower than the wheels of government, so creating these sets takes, literally, a week or more.
