Got a problem with Backup Exec. On the storage tab we see a message "Discovering devices" which has been running for hours now.
Googled it and was advised to repair BackupExec with programs & features but that option is simply not available for Backup Exec.
Also rebuild the database usingBEUtility.exe but that didn't change a thing. It also ran for a suspiciously short amount of time...
The backup exec is using two HP StorageWorks Tape autoloaders for writing to tapes. We had a problem with one of those, had to replace the chasis, but internally it's the same autoloader, with the same tape slots and tape driver from the faulty autoloader.
Since it hangs on discovering devices I presume I have to point backup exec to the "new" autoloader? Or maybe something else?
