Ok there's a minor discussion/debate going about here in my dept. We're basically a Windows Server shop; so our experience is limited but i think the same principles apply. So let me explain the scenario.
Remember; this is a discussion about Virtual Image backup; so let's focus on that only. We're familiar with best/prefered/standard practice; but the question for this VM backup is gonna make me look like a bloody noob.
Assuming we have 2(or more) identical servers setup fully tricked out for Hyper-V; that means that when i set a Virtual Machine (VM) to replicate; the other server(s) would take a copy of that VM and "distribute" it amongst themselves. So if the server fails; i either have (1) a backup of the VM AND (2) its replicated in another server for High Availability so there's no downtime to the users. Either way; i either can...
