We are in the process of setting up a new hyper-v host at a offsite location for disaster recovery. The server will only be used to restore a VM if something fails or a disaster occurs at our primary location.
Could I install the V-RAY edition on this spare server so I can run all the VM backups on it? It says V-RAY is licensed per cpu socket so Im assuming I would just need to do buy the license required to backup the VMs at the primary site on the primary hyper-v host.
If I cant do the above and I had to install the media server on the actual hyper-v host could I easily set it up to recovery at the offsite location.
Are there any backup limitations like GRT recovery when using 4kb sector hard drives with Backup Exec 2014?
Right now we have mixed versions of backup exec 12.5, 2010 and 2012. The new server is gong to be Windows 2012.
