Disaster recovery

If anyone knows the answer, please free to respond or point me to the appropriate online documentation:

Hypothetical situation:

Unitrends virtual appliance installed on Hyper-V physical server #1 backing up numerous VM's on same physical box to NAS. Physical server #1 has catastrophic failure. While physical server #1 is being repaired, replaced, exorcised, prayed over, whatever, I want to spin up one or more of my Unitrends backed up VM's on physical server #2.

How would I go about doing this? Even if I had an accessible backup of my Unitrends VM, spinning it up on physical box #2 would give licensing error, outdated backup database and all that.

Physical server #2 is doing nothing more than Hyper-V replica from physical server #1 (except Exchange of course, ARGH).

Would it make more sense to have Unitrends running on physical server #2?
