I need your wise counsel. I am need help in assessing moving backups to the cloud. My company have decided on the following:
Cloud Provider: Amazon
Software: Veeam Cloud
Data: Backups
We use Veeam B&R for D2D backups, however we wish to offload backups to the cloud instead of to tape. Seeing that we use Veeam for backups it makes sense using them for cloud backups.
I have calculated my data changes it is about 50GB per day across all my servers, yeah that is high, but veeam makes changes based of blocks not files.
- I need to know if any other Spice Heads have employed cloud backups using veeam? If so any input will be greatly appreciated.
- Is it practical trying to put backups to the cloud seeing that I have so much data changes per day?
