So I've been given the task of finding a way to run a full backup followed by incremental backups in the future to back up about 98TB of data (pre-raid). I'm thinking about purchasing 33x3tb drives for about $5,000 and some bare multi drive sata arrays with some sort of hook up, bandwidth won't be too important this array only needs to be used for backups and restores.
Pre-built 32tb arrays are pretty expensive, I'm seeing around $10k each x 3 would be too much to pitch. And I think tape would be a bit much of a hassle with that much data. Can anyone suggest some alternatives or bare sata chassis?
