Hope that someone can help me with this frustrating problem!
I am using Backup Assist by Cortex and I quite like the software and it works well now that I have learnt how it works.
My backups are in the manner of online backups to a remote server and I am using encrypted rsync to perform the backup.
What I am finding is that the backup software works perfectly backing up or restoring data. Yes I have even had the opportunity to do a real life test of the restore function to restore a corrupted database.
As I said the backup works perfectly with no funny errors etc when the Internet and the remote server is working! If the Internet is NOT working when the backup starts and the backup software cannot connect to the remote Server, then obviously the backup fails.
