I need a backup solution for my SMB environment. My environment is mix of Physical Servers and Virtual Servers. These environment are divided into two. The hosting and corporate environment of 20 Users.
Hosting (IIS, SQL) is running on Physical Servers (planning to move these to AWS)
Corporate and Development has mix of Physical Server (Web, SQL, RDS and Hyper-V (AD, File / Print Server, Web, SQL, RDS)
What I currently do is I create a script (robocopy) as well as a script to backup database and copy server files and folders then copy these files to a central storage (Onsite) and AWS EC2 Instance Drive (Offsite) via VPN. However in an event of a disaster, restoration of these is slow. Additionally, robocopy seems to have issues with locked files in a network share/drive.
I tried Veeam Free installed in one of the VMs (very good when backing up the VMs). Veeam file copy job when copying files (not VMs) from 1 location to another is very slow. Cannot backup SQL.
BackupAssist Trial, this one appears I need to install to every server I need to backup. VM backup is very slow. They support SQL though.
Kindly suggest an all in one backup software that
* Installed to one server only (VM and has to be able to backup itself)
* Can Backup Hyper-V VM
* Can backup files of a network share of a physical server
* Can backup SQL Database physical server
* Supports Backup Schedules (Daily, Monthly etc) with Zip AES 256 Encryption, Compression
* Supports USB Storage, Network Location (Optional AWS S3)
I am also considering to resetup the above environment to use AWS for the hosting and DR. And virtualize everything in the Corporate Environment and use Veeam.
