Unitrends experts, a couple of quick questions!

Hey all

Until recently i had my unitrends box protecting 1 win 208 r2 server, and 1 exchange server running win 2003

I had a second win 2008 r 2 server which just ran a single small sql database, i backed up using maintenance plan (sql) and built in baremetal (system)  to a dedicated USB disk.

We have a base unitrends model thats quite old, i simply didnt have capacity for all 3 servers (we may upgrade to a new model in 5 or so months)

We have finally decommissioned the 2003 server (yay!) and i want to protect my second 2008 r 2 server with the unitrends device.

Setup was fine, it picked up the sql instantly and the bm disk worked fine too

So im setting up the schedules...

One thing i always hate doing is coming in to work on a saturday morning to do a cold baremental, so i was thinking of using 'hot baremetal' on the 2008 server instead

I had planned the following schedule

Master - 2am saturdays

Incremental - every 2 hours from 8am until 5pm weekdays

Hot baremetal - 2am sundays

Sql backups 10pm weekdays

It is all easy to setup, my only concern is using hot instead of cold baremetal?

Is there any risk in not having a cold baremetal?.

Finally i note that it is advised that sql server is off for hot baremetal, if i schedule a baremetal for 2am sunday when i know noone will be accessing it, could i still have issues?

Given that i have a seperate sql backup would i still be ok?

I am keen to have everything as automated as possible, and claim some of my saturdays back for myself :)

Thanks
