We purchased UEB and I've been in the process of testing and setting it up. We currently use BE 2010 doing a Weekly Full on Friday and Differentials Monday through Thursday using LTO4. I was wondering what everyone is doing in terms of backup schedule and type (Full, Incremental, Differential and Bare metal) for Unitrends. We have 7 Physical Windows servers with 4 SQL installations and two VMware ESXi 5 Hosts with 20 VMs. Where I'm getting a little hung up on is when to schedule the file level server back up, the sql application backup and the bare metal backup and what type to use. I spoke to support today and the tech said don't bother with Incremental Forever as it will increase the restore time vs restoring from full with differentials.
Would anyone like to chime in with your backup process/schedule?
