Backup Solution For Big Data On A Budget

So recently I changed job's I used to work for a bank where IT spending was driven via compliance so we usually ended up getting something best of breed. I am coming from Commvault which I admit had its issues but overall did what it was supposed to do even if it was a bear to manage.

I am now at a new company where we have the same type of infrastructure (which is why I was hired) We have a NetApp SAN hosting a 95% virtualized environment. I would love to get to 100% virtualized however the last two servers we have at this time cannot be virtualized (one is a phone system server and the other is a specific application) the vendors don't support them yet going to VM.

We are using a lot of the NetApp Backup tools (VMware VSC, SnapManger for SQL and Exchange, and regular NetApp Snapshots for data volumes). These tools are great but I think we need much more on top of that.

Another issue is in backup exec we have a cheap and slow disk shelf where we were putting these backups so we need something better to store them on (I was thinking some kind of hybrid storage) unless we get something with the storage already built into it.

The last issue I have is the amount of data we need to back up we have about 15 TB of data which is not easy to architect a solution around that.

I know a perfect solution would be something like Unitrends however I think for the amount of data we need to back up it is hard to justify the cost there considering the other tools we have in place.

I have been given a ruff budget which needs to include a backup software and if it isn't on board some disk array to store that backup data.

Some initial thoughts on my part:

Buy some sort of hybrid flash/disk array  and use something like Veeam to backup the virtual environment and continue to use Backup Exec for the physical.

Same plan as above but use vRanger (which some recommended to me) which I think can do physical (not sure of the cost of vRanger).

Find something that is all in one like a Unitrends that fits more within our budget (however my concern is here anything that we get wont have fast enough disk to keep up with our backup window).

One more quick thought we are not really open to any cloud only solution at this.

I know I am going to get the sales responses but I was really hoping to get some real people who are no bias to the product they are selling.
