Spiceworks Community,
I just came on as the new IT guy with my company. It came up that I needed to restore a file from a back up they have on a NAS. From what I can tell and what I have gathered, the backups were created by the workstation and saved to the NAS. They are incremental backups and what I have wound up with is a bunch of folders with the dates of the backups containing zipped files which contain the backed up files. The problem I have run into is that with incremental backups, it is very hard to find a file by going through the compressed folders. I tried to do a search for the specific file using windows exporter with the settings to search through zipped files but it still does not come up. So I went to search for the VHD file or the wbcat files. There are no vhd files that I can tell and I am unable to open the wbcat files via windows explorer or via windows backup utilities. So now I'm stuck. Any suggestions?
