We have software developers that each have their own favorite dev environments on their local laptops. They then check that code into a centralized repository once they're done with it. However, there is an issue with vulnerability while they're modifying it and before they check in.
My knee-jerk reaction is to just have them purchase USB hard drives and call it a day. But since some of them are working on code for federal agencies the drives would need to be encrypted. Our Federal arm is like herding cats and since they are the big money-makers it's hard to force any sort of change. So this process needs to be easy.
These are laptops that roam all of the time so there's no easy way for me to centralize this. Also some of the users aren't even on site. Is there a solution for these types of situations that doesn't involve installing infrastructure?
