UEB vs AppAssure

Hi guys,

Deciding on a new backup solution for our company. We have three offices -- our HQ is totally virtual, our larger satellite office is mixed virtual/physical, and our overseas satellite office is physical. I narrowed down my choices for backup to Unitrends Enterprise backup (no need for an appliance, have the storage), and AppAssure. I'd say our total set of data that needs to be backed across all the offices is about 20TB, with about 6-7TB of it project data that needs to be incrementally backed up every few hours.

A feature that is important to me, but I did not have an opportunity to really delve into, is replication. I need to be able to replicate between HQ and our domestic satellite office. Right now this is accomplished by using the built-in replication feature on our Dell Equallogics - part of the reason I am looking for another backup solution is to lessen our dependence on Equallogic.

I've been working with both companies to demo their product, and have liked both. I really like AppAssure's interface and general ease-of-use, but I get the impression that it is still a product in development Also, the feedback on spiceworks is pretty mixed, which is in stark contrast to the glowing praise Unitrends gets here.

Unitrends comes across as the more mature product, and they have solid support people, but I dislike the flash interface. A major plus for me is my confidence that they'll support the product, along with it's cost: it is significantly cheaper than AppAssure.

Based on all that, I will probably go UEB, but may make an impulsive decision and get AppAssure. What do you guys think? I'm expecting people to respond with UEB testimonials...is there anyone out there that'll stick up for AppAssure? What challenges will I have with either product?

Thanks for your help.
